Year 10 - Creative Writing
We provide students with a prompt and invite them to respond using the form of writing they most engage with.
Literature both provides a way to document and share our experiences and pushes the boundaries of our imagination.
We invite students to read, discuss and enjoy Black writers such as Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Akala, Bernardine Evaristo, Jackie Kay, George the Poet, Patience Agbabi, Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Audre Lorde, Amiri Baraka, and many more. We will discuss the themes present in both the chosen works and in their critical responses.
We hope by interacting with different forms of writing, our participants might be able to cultivate a more personal relationship with writing.
